Cast on an odd number of stitches.
Row 1: k1, *k2 tog*.
Row 2: *k1, yo, pick up horizontal bar linking first to second st and knit, yo*, k1.
Row 3: knit, dropping each ‘yo’ st but retaining picked-up st. At the end of this row, you should have the same no. of sts as originally cast on.
Row 4: purl
Rep: 1st-4th rows as required.

Fancy Stitch No. 5

Cast on in multiples of 6 plus 1.
Row 1: *k1, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k1, k2 tog, yo*, end k1.
Row 2: purl.
Row 3: *k2, yo, k3 tog, yo, k1*, end k1.
Row 4: purl.
These 4 rows form the pattern. Rep as required.

Fancy Stitch No. 6

Cast on in multiples of 16.
Row 1: *k2, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k1, yo, k2 tog, k5, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2*.
Row 2: *k2, yo, p2 tog, p4, p2 tog, yo, p2, yo, p2 tog, k2*.
Row 3: *k2, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k3, yo, k2 tog, k3, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2*.
Row 4: *k2, yo, p2 tog, p2, p2 tog, yo, p4, yo, p2 tog, k2*.
Row 5: k2, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k5, yo, k2 tog, k1, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2*.
Row 6: *k2, yo, p2 tog twice, yo, p6, yo, p2 tog, k2*.
These 6 rows form the pattern. Rep as required.

Butterfly Stitch

Cast on in multiples of 10.
Row 1: *k2 tog, yo, k1, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k5*.
Row 2: *p7, sl 1 as if to purl, p2*.
Row 3: as 1st row.
Row 4: as 2nd row.
Row 5: knit.
Row 6: purl
Row 7: *k5, k2 tog, yo, k1, yo, sl 1, k1, psso*.
Row 8: *p2, sl 1 as if to purl, p7*.
Row 9: as 7th row.
Row 10: as 8th row.
These 10 rows form the pattern. Rep as required.

Mock Polka-dot Stitch

Cast on in multiples of 7.
Row 1: *k5, yo, p2 tog*.
Row 2-8: work in stockinette stitch.
Row 9: *yo, p2 tog, k5*.
Row 10- 16: work in stockinette stitch.
Rep these 16 rows, as required. Note: stockinette stitch is alternating rows of knit and purl.
