Row 3: p2, *k4 slipping extra loops off needle, p2, k1, p2.

Cast on an uneven number of stitches.

Row 2 and all even numbered rows: (right side of work) k1, *sl 1 as if to k, k2, yo, pass slipped st over knitted st and new st just made*, k2.
Row 3 and all odd numbered rows: p1, *sl 1 as if to p, p1, yo, psso 2 sts*.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows as required.

Large Rush-Matting Stitch

Cast on in multiples of 4.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3: *k2, slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and keep to back of work, k2, k2 from cable needle*.
Row 4: purl
Row 5: *slip 2 sts onto cable needle and keep to front of work, k2, k2 from cable needle*.
Row 6: purl
Rep 3rd - 6th rows, as required.

Woven Stitch Number 1

Cast on an even number of stitches
Row 1: *k1, yfwd, sl 1 as if to p, ybk*.
Row 2: *p1, ybk, sl 1 as if to p, yfwd*
