Baby Afghan from CraftownGAUGE: In pattern, 12 sc and 13 rows = 4" STRIP (Make 4) With MC, ch 19 loosely. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 18 sc. Row 2 (Right side): Ch 1, turn; sc in both loops of first sc, sc in BLO of next sc, (sc in both loops of next sc, sc in BLO of next sc) across. Note: Mark last row as right side and bottom. Rows 3-18: Ch 1, turn; sc in both loops of first sc, sc in BLO of next sc, (sc in both loops of next sc, sc in BLO of next sc) across; at end of Row 18 change to CC in last sc. Rows 19-22: Ch 1, turn; sc in both loops of first sc, sc in BLO of next sc, (sc in both loops of next sc, sc in BLO of next sc) across; at end of Row 22 change to MC in last sc. Row 23: Ch 1, turn; sc in both loops of first sc, sc in BLO of next sc,(sc in both loops of next sc, sc in BLO of next sc) across. Rows 24-128: Repeat Rows 2-23, 4 times; then repeat Rows 2-18 once more. Finish off.
BORDERRow 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across; finish off. Work Border across both long edges of 2 Strips and across only one long edge on inside for first and last Strips. ASSEMBLY With CC and wrong sides together, bottom edges at same end and working through inside loops of each sc across Border, whipstitch Strips together as follows: Insert the needle from right to left through one strand on each piece. Bring the needle around and insert it from right to left through the next strand on both pieces. Continue in this manner, keeping the sewing yarn fairly loose.
EDGINGRnds 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in center sc of each corner; join with slip st to first sc. Finish off.
